Journées SMAI-MODE 2018
Following the tradition of the conference, the GdR MOA (Mathematics of Optimization and Applications) is providing a mini-course as a prelude.
The course will be taught by Julien Mairal and Alberto Biette (INRIA Grenoble) and the theme will be "Learning and Optimization with a focus on sparse estimation". It will be taught in English and include both mathematical and computational aspects. Tentative outline:
3 paradigms in learning related to optimization.
Stochastic optimization for large-scale learning.
Sparse estimation and applications in computer vision and image processing.
Important Information:
The course is open to PhD students in priority (Academics, Master students, and Postdocs may also apply).
Every attendee has to register for the conference.
Thanks to the support of the GdR MOA, there is no extra fee for the mini-course.
Housing and Meals for March 26-30 are included in the conference fees.
Participants have to bring their personal laptops with Python installed (Anaconda is recommended for beginners).
To apply, fill the following form before February 27.
The acceptation letters will be sent by the end of February. Upon acceptation, you will have to register to the conference before March 10 (early bird until March 5).
